Jazz 2-day October Half Term Course

Monday 27th to Tuesday 28th October

Join us for a 2-day Jazz Holiday Course (October half term) at Willow Brook Primary School on October 27-28, 2025 at 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Get ready to immerse yourself in the world of jazz and improvisation with expert tutors and fellow music enthusiasts.

This two-day project will have two groups:

• Junior Funksters: For beginners to Grade 2 level in school years 4 to 8

• Funk in the Forest: Grade 3 level and higher musicians in school years 8 to 11.

About the course:

• No previous jazz, improv or band experience is needed

• The course is led by music teachers from Waltham Forest Music Service

• There will be a session with an external industry professional

• We welcome all wind, brass and rhythm section (drums, percussion, bass, keys, guitar - we’ll be monitoring numbers of rhythm section players so that the ensembles balance musically. Priority will be given to those who signed up first who meet the criteria)

• Students will need to bring their instrument/s though we have a limited number of keyboards.

• Students should bring a packed lunch, drink and any snacks required. (No nuts please)
