Instrument Hire

We hire instruments to pupils learning an instrument at our Music School or in their school with a Music Service teacher.

Hiring an instrument can be a more affordable way to learn and get used to an instrument without making a commitment to buy your own.

We hire most instruments including string instruments, woodwind and brass. We do not hire keyboards or drum kits.

Caring For Your Instrument

Musical instruments should be looked after carefully so that your music sounds at its best … and also because they’re expensive to repair or replace!

Here are some tips to help you take care of a musical instrument:

  • Make sure the instrument case has the pupil;s name on a label, so it’s easier to identify and doesn’t get lost.

  • Take care opening and closing the case – making sure the catches are properly closed so the instrument doesn’t fall out.

  • Open the case on a flat surface, ideally the floor, so that the instrument doesn’t fall out.

  • If the instrument is damaged, ask the music teacher for help – please don’t try to fix it.

The music teacher will give each student detailed advice on how best to look after their specific instrument.
